The first fund, Dansk Vækstkapital I, was established in 2011 by Vækstfonden, later Denmark’s Export and Investment Fund (EIFO), with the overarching mission of supporting Danish growth in the wake of the financial crisis through capital injection into the Danish venture, small and mid-cap market.
The success of the first fund led to its successors in the form of the subsequent funds Dansk Vækstkapital II (2016) and Dansk Vækstkapital III (2021).
On 1 January 2025, Danske Private Equity, a part of Danske Bank Group, took over the management of the Dansk Vækstkapital I-III funds as well as potential future Dansk Vækstkapital funds from EIFO after an extensive tendering process.
